 Sideritis Wine

Sideritis is a fairly obscure Greek grape variety found primarily near Patras on the Peloponnese peninsula and to a lesser extent in the Aegean Islands and Greek Macedonia. The pink skinned Sideritis grapes produce wine that is both spicy and crisp. It is rarely made as a single variety wine but is highly valued for the spice it brings to a blend. Its traditional blending partner is Roditis, though any number of combinations may exist.

Synonyms include: Sidiritis, Sidezites, Akaki, Chimoniatiko
