Folle Noire

Wines of France
Vine & Table
Color: Red Grape Variety
Notes: Folle Noire (Cote d'Azur) is more commonly known as Jurancon. It is a minor grape grown in the Cahors area east of Bordeaux in France. Used to create local blend, along with Malbec and Merlot, that is a well-regarded robust red wine with pronounced aroma. Alone, the grape yields a full, hard and dark-red wine. It is also grown in Provence where it is used in a blend, along with Cinsault and Grenache, to produce one of the favored red wines.
Alt names: Jurançon Noir
