What is Wine-Searcher's 'fair use' policy?

Wine-Searcher.com™ is for your personal use only and you may not send automated queries to the site (i.e. use software that generates searches on the site). If you are in any doubt as to this provision, please contact us.

What does Wine-Searcher's 'single user license' mean?

When you buy the Pro Version you are purchasing a single user license. If more than one user tries to use the same Pro Version login at the same time then all the offending users are logged out, the subscription's password is changed, and an 'Account Misuse' message is returned to the screen.

Can I use the Pro Version at home and at work?

Yes. You may use the Pro Version on different PCs at different times. You are not allowed to use your subscription on two PCs simultaneously (see previous question).

What is Wine-Searcher's guarantee?

We are sure that you will find the Pro Version useful. However, if you find that the Pro Version is not for you, and you subscribed less than 7 days ago, then please contact us. You do not need to give a reason for requesting the refund - but we would find it very useful to have your feedback.

How do I change my password?
You must be logged into the Pro Version to use this option.

You can amend your password by selecting 'Your Details'. You can also access this page by selecting the 'Change your password/email' option which is at the top left of the Pro Version Home Page.

I've forgotten my password, how do I get a reminder?

If you've forgotten your password an automatic reminder can be sent to your email address.

Can I change my email address?
You must be logged into the Pro Version to use this option.

You can amend your email address by selecting 'Your Details'. You can also access this page by selecting the 'Change your password/email' option which is at the top left of the Pro Version Home Page. The change takes effect immediately.

I've tried to amend my email address and got an error message - what does it mean?

Wine-Searcher's software contains email domain name checking. This verifies all email addresses to make sure they conform to an expected pattern. If you enter an email address that the software doesn't recognize, you will get the following error message: 'There appears to be an error in your Email address, please confirm below or change it.' Check that the email address you've entered is correct. If it is, check the 'This Email address is valid?' box. If you have made an error, amend the email address and re-submit.

I don't appear to get email responses from Wine-Searcher.

We respond to every email we receive. We also monitor emails generated directly from the site to make sure they are working correctly. If you do not appear to be receiving emails from us, please check that your anti-spam software is not deleting them. For more details please see our additional information page.

Will the Pro Version always show me cheaper prices?

No. The Pro Version shows all listed merchants for a particular search. Of course, you may find cheaper listings using the Pro Version - but we cannot guarantee that this will be the case.

Can I give the Pro Version as a gift?

Yes. If you are sure the recipient does not have a subscription, just sign up on their behalf, either using their email address, or your own (changing the email address to theirs after the subscription receipt confirmation email has been sent out). Please contact us if you need to check whether the recipient is already a subscriber.

Why should I buy the Pro Version?

Searching using the Pro Version returns a full list of all merchants/retailers who satisfy your search criteria, not just our sponsors. This results in a wider range of suppliers (and may include both cheaper and more expensive wines than you will see on the free-for-use site). Since we have found that the average price of the cheapest supplier is half that of the most expensive, it is worth while subscribing to receive the additional information.

Can I pay for the Pro Version using American Express?

Yes you can. However, the payment will be taken in New Zealand Dollars (equivalent to USD29.95) at the time the payment is actually taken.
