Goumenissa Wine

Goumenissa is an appellation and village in northern Macedonia. The village is 12 miles (19km) south of the Republic of Macedonia on the south-eastern formation of the Paiko mountain range. The appellation is closer to the Aegean Sea than Naousa and Amyndaio.

Wines produced from grapes grown at lower altitutes are approachable in their youth, but lack the ability to age. Dry red wines are produced from blending Xynomavro with a minimum proportion of 20% Negoska.
