Hungary is known for its distinctive wine styles which range from light, dry varietals to the world famous dessert wines of Tokaji. Important grape varieties include Kadarka, Portugieser, Furmint, Hárslevelu, Olaszrizling and imported international varieties among others.
There are 22 delimited Hungarian wine regions which are concentrated in three major geographical groups namely – Transdanubia, The Northern Massif and The Great Plain.
