The Oak Knoll District is located in the southern part of the Napa valley at a relatively low elevation on the valley floor, just north of the town of Napa that gives this famous valley its name.
The cooling winds and fogs from San Pablo Bay combined with the warmer winds from the north noticeably influence the environment. This moderate climate enables a wide range of grape varieties to flourish in the Oak Knoll District. Impressive wines are made from Chardonnay as well as the cool climate varieties Pinot Noir and Riesling. This diverse region also encourages Merlot to ripen.
