Pessac-Leognan, created as an appellation in 1987, produces red and dry white wines. This is Bordeaux's most urban wine area - part of it is surrounded by the campus of Bordeaux University. Soils here have particularly good drainage being made up of gravel terraces. Red wines are made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, whereas the whites are made from Sauvignon (which must be at least 25% of the blend) and Semillon.
We have found 1171 wines produced in this wine region.
