Solano County WineSolano County is located about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento, the capital of California. Most of the region is influenced by the cooling maritime climate of San Francisco Bay, although there are also warmer areas. Grapes are planted on a range of sites, from the fertile river areas surrounding the Sacramento river to the slopes of the Vaca Range. Red wines based on Syrah and Zinfandel are mostly produced, largely in the warmer parts of the county. |
