Solano County Wine

Solano County is located about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. Most of the region is influenced by the cooling maritime climate of San Francisco Bay although there are warmer areas. Grapes are planted in a range of sites, from the fertile river areas surrounding the Sacramento River, to the slopes of the Vaca Range.

Mostly red wines based on Syrah and Zinfandel are produced in the warmer parts of the region.
