Greece's northeastern-most region, Thraki, has no official appellations. Vineyards, such as there are, are mostly for local production, although there are some which are utilized by bottled wine producers from Macedonia. Vines used reflect the proximity of the region to Bulgaria. The white Zoumiatiko is the Bulgarian Dimiat, the red Mavroudi Thrakis is assumed to be a clone of the Bulgarian Mavrud and the red Pamidi (likely of classical origin) has the Bulgarian synonym, Pamid.
