Valencay is a VDQs region on the south bank of the Cher tributary of the Loire at the far south east of the Touraine district. Some of the most successful vine varieties are Sauvignon Blanc but crisp red, white and rose wines designed to be drunk young are also made from Cabernet, Cot, Gamay, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Arbois.
