Wines from Adelaide Plains

Traditionally a market garden area, this flat vineyard region north of Adelaide predominately produces commercial grade grapes that are blended with fruit from other regions. Considerable volumes of mass market Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are produced, and to a lesser extent Grenache, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Semillon. Much of the fruit is processed in the nearby Barossa Valley.
