Wines from Carinena

Carinena is a town in northeast Spain which lends its name to both a DO wine zone and a vine variety (widely grown in southern France as Carignan). In the past, many of the heavy red wines were sold in bulk for blending with lighter wine. However, recent changes have resulted in lighter wines being sold from this DO directly.
