Wines from Cotes du Rhone

The Cotes du Rhone appellation, granted in 1937, has almost become French for 'red wine'. The great majority of Cotes du Rhone come from the vineyards of southern Rhone and are typically a light, fruity red wine made by one of the co-operatives of the region. A significant proportion of this wine is released En Primeur. A very small proportion of Cotes du Rhone is white wine.
