To the east of the Matra Foothills in the foothills of the Bukk Mountains is a wine region named after the historic town of Eger. Some white wines are made, principally from Leanyka, but the area is best known for age-worthy red wines, especially Egri Bikaver, commonly known as 'Bulls Blood' on export markets. |
