Gigondas is a red and rose wine appellation in the southern Rhone. Maximum yields are restricted and the minimum alcoholic strength must be 12.5%. For red wines, the Grenache grape must account for no more than 80% of the blend. Syrah and/or Mourvedre make up the remainder.
