In 1970, the Lago di Caldaro denomination became the first of the long series of Alto Adige DOC wines. It is a red wine of high quality produced in a prescribed area that includes parts of the provinces of Trent and Bolzano. The wine is made from Schiava grapes, although the addition of Lagrein and Pinot Nero is permitted up to a maximum of 15%. |
