Lefkada (Lefkas) is the smallest of the four major wine-producing Ionian islands. Plantings on Lefkada mirror little of the varietal diversity of its neighboring islands, consisting almost exclusively of the Venetian transplant Vertzami (Marzemino in Italy). The local co-operative is the sole producer of bottled wine on the Island. |
