Madiran is a red wine appellation which produces concentrated, tannic wines. The traditional grape variety is Tannat, which may constitute between 40-60% of the blend. The wine traditionally needed long bottle-ageing; recent changes in wine-making practice, however, is softening the impact of the Tannat on the wine. |
