Wines from Neuchatel

Neuchatel is a small canton with only 600 Ha of land on ancient calcareous soil under vine. Chasselas predominates the plantings although Pinot Noir is also important. The pale pink Pinot Oeil-de-Pedrix was invented here. This was the first of the Swiss cantons to restrict yields.
