The DOC Pentro is produced in three versions; Bianco, Rosso and Rosato. The white is derived from Trebbiano Toscano with the addition of Bombino Bianco, the formula generally followed throughout Molise and the Abruzzi. The two other versions are made from Montepulciano grapes with the addition of Sangiovese. The rose's color is the result of brief maceration of the must on the skins of the red grapes. |
