Wines from Pollino

Pollino is made in the southernmost production area of Calabria. The principal red grape used in its production is the Galioppo. Guarnaccia grapes, a variety typical of the Saracena zone that bears reasonably well but not at a constant level, and Montonico Bianco, which originated in the Teramo area, still its best and the most typical habitat, are also used in the production of Pollino, a wine that ranges in color from ruby to cherry red.
