  • Champagne Brut Nature - Zero wine region

    Brut Nature and Zero Dosage are terms used to denote the very driest Champagne style, with less than three grams of residual sugar per liter of wine. They are often referred to as being non-dosé (undosed) or 'Brut Zero'.

    Before final bottling, almost all champagnes are given a final dosage (a mixture of sugar syrup and wine) to adjust their sweetness up to the desired level – this is known as the liqueur d'expedition. This step is omitted for Brut Nature wines, leaving the Champagne in its 'natural' state. Sweetness is a key component in the overall qualities of any Champagne, ranking alongside aroma, varietal composition and the fineness/persistence of its mousse.
