Grape Variety: Malbec - Merlot

Malbec – Merlot is a red wine blend of the dark-skinned Malbec and the juicy Merlot grapes. In many ways, Malbec – Merlot can be thought of as a mini-Bordeaux Blend as it shares two of the six permitted grape varieties used in the more established blend. Stylistically, Malbec - Merlot represents New World winemaking; while the marriage of Malbec and Merlot is nothing new in Cahors, many French producers are making this wine in a modern, fruit-forward style.
