Cabernet Franc – Pinot Noir is an unusual blend of two aromatic, red wine varieties. Cabernet Franc is known as one of the lighter grapes of the Bordeaux blend, in which it is often used to add perfume, spice and floral accents to weightier wines. Pinot Noir is not commonly used in a blend, as it requires a subtle partner so that it can retain its identity.     Serra Gaucha is a Brazilian wine region in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul ('great river of the south'), where Brazil meets Uruguay. Its name is apt: the hilly landscape here (serra means 'mountain range') is inhabited by the gauchos, 'cowboys' of the Brazilian pampas.
