Alicante Bouschet – Aragonez is a common red-wine blend used in southern Portugal, particularly in the Alentejo region.
Alicante Bouschet is widely planted in Portugal, Spain (where it is known as Garnacha Tintorera) and southern France. It is a crossing of Petit Bouschet and Grenache, bred in 1866 by French viticulturist Henri Bouschet, after whom it is named.
