Cabernet Sauvignon – Shiraz is a fruit-forward combination of two great red wine varieties, known colloquially as "The Great Australian Red Blend".

Best known for its commanding role in the wines of Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon provides much of the framework in this blend, but is often said to be lacking in the mid-palate ("the doughnut effect"). Happily, Australian-grown Shiraz is famously good at providing juicy, jammy fruit flavors that fill out the mid-palate. The two combine to create complex wines full of bright-berry and dark-fruit flavors.
