Wine Competitions and Awards

Although there are numerous wine competitions held across the globe every year, we have selected the results from major wine awards events that Wine-searcher users have found particularly useful over the years.

• The International Wine Challenge (IWC) Trophy winners for 2008 and 2007 and other regional category winners from 2006, 2005 and 2004. This competition is based on wines available in the UK.
• The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) best in class for 2008 and 2007. The results of 'Best in class' fortified wines and 'Best in class grape spirits' for 2008 and 2007 are also available.
• The San Francisco International Wine Competition 'Double Gold & Best in class' wines for 2008, 2007 and 2006.
• The San Francisco Chronicle's top rated wines for 2008 and top rated whites for 2007. We also have the results for 2007 reds and 2005 top rated white wines. These tend to be value wines, suitable for everyday drinking.
• The Sydney International Wine Competition red and white winners for 2008, red and white wine winners from 2007 and dessert & fortified wine winners from 2007.
• Sydney Royal Wine Show 'Gold' winners from 2008, 2007 and 2006.
• Finger Lakes International Wine Competition 'Double-Gold & Gold' winners for 2008 and 2006.
• San Diego International Wine Competition 'Gold-Sweep' winners for 2008 and 2006.
• West Coast Wine Competition 'Best of Class' winners for 2008 and 2006.
• Japan Wine Challenge 'Gold' Wines for 2008 and 2007.
• Chardonnay wines from the Chardonnay-du-Monde competition 2008.
