Critic tasting note: (2022 vintage) "Vigneto Giardino was the first vineyard Adami purchased, over 100 years ago. In 1933, it became the first single vineyard Prosecco ever made. Rive, as in Rive di Colbertaldo, means a hillside in Italian. As a category, Prosecco bearing a Rive name indicate a higher level of quality due to a specific, named and awarded growing site. Adami’s 2022 Vigneto Giardino could be one of the best Proseccos you’ll ever taste. Curiously, Adami, one of the region’s greatest producers, seemingly wants to de-emphasize that it’s a Prosecco. All that appears on the front label is Valdobbiadene DOCG, relegating the Prosecco Superiore to the back label. Who can blame them. This is not your ordinary Prosecco. Weighing in at a modest 11 percent stated alcohol, this graceful beauty dances on the palate while simultaneously exciting the taste buds. A pleasure to taste some bottle-aged expressions. This spends more than a year on fine lees after the first fermentation. Russet apples, almonds and preserved lemons. Linear and precise, reflecting the cooler vintage. Refined, with a swath of sweetness tucked in nicely by the persistent bead and freshness. Exceptional for the diverse table and open mind. A bottled-aged expression that has spent more than a year on fine lees. A treat to taste. Segueing toward acacia and honey, yet still with a cool feel. Tangerines, apricot pith, peaches, mint, fennel and sage notes. Long, if a tad sweet. Drink now.

Acacia and citrus blossom aromas open the nose of this vibrant Prosecco. Notes of Fuji apples and quince flow from the glass. It's crisp and fresh on the palate with a gentle perlage that delivers lemon, pear and a touch of almond.

Transparent straw yellow with a persistent mousse. An elegant nose of pear, apple and meadow flowers. On the palate, a repeat of the pleasant fruity notes balanced by the fine mousse, leading to a refreshing finish.

Bright silver gray colour with persistent mousse. On the nose gentle, with delicate floral notes, as well as subtle fruity bouquet. On the palate with fine fruit texture, shows elegant sweetness, although dry and crystal clean finish.

Super bright, shiny straw yellow. Initially spicy nose then fresh sage leaves and sloe, followed by rich green apple and quince. Fruit-driven on the palate, fine mousse, harmonious in the approach and course, with good drive and fine fruit texture, elegant, long finish, very balanced.

Brilliant straw yellow with persistent mousse. Highly aromatic notes of peach blossom and white peaches, crisp apple and light sea salt. Vibrant and concentrated palate with ripe sweet fruit, generous, round and elegant, with a clear, long lasting finish.

Brilliant, shining green-yellow with persistent mousse. Very elegant, clear nose; lemon juice, orange blossom and coconut flakes. Wonderfully fresh on the palate, hearty and full, generous across the palate, harmonious, balanced and long. The best proof that good Prosecco may also be a few years old.

Franco Adami was among the first Prosecco producers to insist on vintage-dating his wines. He also developed the concept of vineyard- designate expressions, known as “Rive” here in northern Italy. This is a beautiful Prosecco from the steep mountains of Valdobbiadene with creamy perlage and bright peach and grapefruit aromas.
