Tasted: Aug 2024
This late-release 2020 from the Wetzel family is dark, rich and complex, with a fascinating array of aromas and flavors on a full body that’s nicely laced with firming tannins. Toast, cedar, tobacco leaves, dried cherries and plump blackberries animate the palate and linger long in the finish. Aged extra-long for 32 months in French barrels. Drink or hold.

Ripe blackcurrants and blackberries with hints of nut shell, pine needles and wet earth. Full-bodied, polished and linear with firm tannins and chocolaty texture. A little tight and chewy at the end. Better from 2025.
2018 Vintage
Tasted: Nov 2021
Balanced aromas of spicy dark fruit, leather and roasted herbs. Full-bodied with grainy tannins. Brooding. Plush, with dark berries and cocoa. Powdery finish. Drink now.

There's a brown sugar, candied edge to the raspberries and cherries of thisCabernet. Plenty of caramelized oak, too. The result is a soft wine that grows cloying after a while.

Tasted: Jul 2013
Made from grapes grown on a historic site, this Cab shows a sense of place, with pure red berry, pepper, and a hint of smoke underlined by fine minerality.
2006 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2010
A good, ripely extracted Cabernet, and while it's a little one-dimensional, it has enough heft to accompany a good steak. Shows tannic flavors of blackberries, black currants and dark chocolate. Drink now.
