The 2010 Archery Summit ‘Red Hills Estate’ is a stunning bottling by this estate. The wine was aged for 13 months in 53% new French oak prior to bottling and was initially released in March 2012. The wine shows an aromatic profile of damp soil, dried red cherry, sage and black truffle crudo. As the wine slowly builds in the glass it reveals gorgeous red fruit flavors with blood orange and peat moss flavors. The mouth-watering acidity really drives this wine, as does the exceedingly long finish.

A truly fabulous vintage, the 2002 ‘Red Hills Estate’ Pinot Noir comes from 25 year old Pinot Noir plantings. The wines as aged for 14 months in 100% new French oak prior to bottling. This opens with aromas of toasty oak, smoke, red currant jelly and forest floor. The mouthfeel and viscosity to the wine is gorgeous, as this shows a really nice combination of weight and elegance. The earthy terroir to the wine shines as well as this is best enjoyed within the next five years.

to 2028
The 2008 ‘Red Hills Estate’ is a blend of Dijon Clones 115, 777 and Pomard. The wine was aged in 62% new French oak for ten months prior to bottling. The oak influence adds some richness to the wine which shows off dark fruits on the palate and nose. The weight and tension to the wine is impressive. Showing a nice mid-palate saline streak, this shows really good range and will cellar marvelously for another decade.

Tasted: Aug 2018
When to drink: 2018
to 2022
This wine was aged in 100% new French oak and shows a toasty oak influence on the nose. There is a dark fruit influence on the nose with wild blackberry coming into play. The palate shows a surprisingly good amount of acidity with orange rind, red cherry candy and wild blackberry flavors still alive. The range and tension of the wine is really impressive. This still has a few years left.
2014 Vintage
Tasted: Nov 2016
A rich and fruity red with blueberry and plum aromas follow through to a full body, velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Shows lots of fruit but a solid tannin backbone to back it up. More friut-forward style. Drink now or hold.
2014 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2016
This is a well-structured, dense and serious effort, with ripe immaculate black-cherry fruit. It is both forward and fruit-driven, yet polished and showing substantial depth. Hints of cola swirl through the extended finish. Delicious already, it will certainly drink well over the next eight to 10 years.
2013 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2016
One of the markers for grapes from the heart of the Dundee Hills is a deep black-cherry fruit core, and it's here in spades. In this penetrating, powerful wine, that dense fruit comes close to cassis, along with coffee and cola streaks. Drink now through 2026.
2012 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2015
Showing a light whiff of funk, this seems a bit reductive at first, but opens gracefully with adequate aeration. Black cherry and dark chocolate flavors combine and thread into a medium finish with some of that same earthy character.
2011 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2014
Quite tart, with a mix of cranberry and strawberry fruit, this rather delicate Pinot Noir is a fine reflection of the strengths of this lighter vintage. Perfectly balanced, it shows surprising length and complexity, from the raspberry aromatics on through a lightly toasty finish.

2009 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2012
A terrific mouthfeel highlights this mix of berry and cherry fruits, toast and cinnamon. Tart and focused, it was aged in roughly half new French oak for the first 10 months, then transferred to neutral barrels for another five months. Fine-grained tannins give it an elegant finish.
2008 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2011
This is a full-on strawberry extravaganza, loaded with fresh fruit flavors, flecks of peppery spice and tannins just hinting at bitterness. Aromas rush from the glass, a mélange of pepper and sassafras, cherry cola and moist earth. The mouthfeel is substantial, almost gritty—it has a rough and tumble feeling to the finish.
2004 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2008
The Red Hills Estate bottling sends a spicy note sailing out of the glass, with a pleasing follow-up of red currant, cherry, cinnamon and vanilla. Medium-bodied and displaying a core of tart fruit, this tails off into a tannic finish that needs a bit more polish.
2003 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2006
This wine has some funky scents of soy and silage, with simple, thin fruit. It falls off quickly; there's no weight to it and the oak flavors have nothing to lean against.
2000 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2003
Smooth on the bouquet, with a good mix of ripe red fruit and wood-driven spice. The palate deals a hand of pure but light cherry and raspberry, while the finishing act is one of oak and coffee, and a fair amount of length. This is a racy and acid-heavy wine that comes across fresh and snappy. But all told it's not packed enough to go the extra mile.
1999 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2002
Medium- weight and tasty, this shows greater extraction than most Oregon Pinot Noirs. The soft fruit displays mocha and plum aromas. Some tasters praised complex meat and mushroom accents; others found it forward and pleasing, if less finely nuanced. The wine's supple, almost creamy feel was widely praised. Drink now–2005.
1998 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2000
Archery Summit wines often seem bigger-boned, oakier and more tannic than their brethren, and this bottling is no exception. Ripe cherries are framed by vanilla and toast, with firm drying tannins on the finish. Put this one away for a couple of years while you are enjoying the charms of the Premier Cuvée.
1997 Vintage
Opens with a classic Pinot nose of sour cherries and mineral accents. Good mouthfeel; moderately astringent, with sour-cherry, strawberry and mint flavors. Elegant and concentrated; pretty now and should improve with age.
