Aromas of black cherry, ripe black plums, clove, shiitake mushroom, and gravel meld harmoniously in the glass. The palate offers a lush experience, with tannins that coat the mouth and support layers of plum, violets and spice. Its silky texture lingers long on the palate, keeping the palate craving for more. Enjoyable with spicy charcuterie boards and semi-firm goat cheeses with truffle.

Tasted: Dec 2023
High-toned aromas of fresh red cherries, crushed overripe strawberries and pomegranates are tossed in a bowl of rosehip, thyme and moss. The generous palate is balanced amongst underripe black cherries, rose petal, clove and salt. This wine is rich and medium bodied with impressive concentration balanced by brisk acidity.

Tasted: Jun 2023
Deep nose of black cherry and blackcurrant pastilles with lots of licorice and smoke. Generous body and concentration for this difficult vintage, the fruit wrapping nicely around the quite bold tannins. The finish is still slightly firm, but this has very good potential and may well show better after another year or two of bottle age. Well integrated oak all the way through. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.

Tasted: Jul 2022
Quite some roasted-meat character here, alongside the dried-cherry and wild-blackberry notes. On the palate, this has been built on a huge scale for a wine from this appellation and the bold, plush tannins may strike some as untypical. However, there's a deep pool of black fruit here and the structure fits in there, so that all you need is some patience...and then maybe a big barbecue! Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

Unusually deep, opaque colour. A sense of crushed blueberry comes with depth and generosity on the nose. Edges of cinnamon appear and the palate is incredibly dense, bold, firm and concentrated with fine but grippy tannins. It carries its alcoholic unbelievably well - because freshness informs and pervades all. The finish is rich and rounded with a sumptuous sense of ripe black cherry.

Tasted: Aug 2021
Nice dark cherries and forest berries on the nose, but on the palate this is too chewy for us and lacks the charm that might ameliorate that. One-dimensional, drying finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now, before the fruit fades.

A fresh-faced nose brims with ripe red cherry and forest fruits. The body comes with a pleasant tannic crunch and the fresh but ripe fruit, almost as of berry compote, spreads aromatically across the palate. This has immense charm and ample freshness that frames the rounded fruit.

Tasted: Jan 2019
A big and rather robust Beaune with dark plums, then a generous palate with full, supple tannins that build to the bold, licorice and earth finish. Better from 2020.

Tasted: Dec 2018
Firmly structured, this young and generous wine has power and concentration. Its rich tannins and solid texture are good auguries for the future, balanced with red-plum and berry flavors. Drink this wine from 2024. Roger Voss

A lovely, spicy and delicately earthy nose with a hint of violets. This is a classic high-end Beaune with a serious tannin structure and the flesh to easily carry this. Quite a bit of power and fresh acidity at the long, complex finish. Drink or hold.

Tasted: Jan 2016
Ripe, jammy fruitiness gives this wine a generous feel. Packed with opulent berry flavor, it will develop well. It is rich and rounded, nicely supported by the tannins that are in the background. Drink from 2019.
2017 Vintage
Grande réussite de la maison dans le millésime, beaune complet, subtilement épicé, ample, charnu, sans lourdeur, et terroir peut être un peu plus terrien mais plus énergique dans sa réponse que Grèves et même clos des Mouches.
