Deep, dark almost opaque purple ruby color. The aromas are of juicy black-plum & licorice. The palate displays lovely dark-plum & damson fruit. The tannins are fine & there is ripe concentrated black-fruit with good bite that opens to a sweet licorice on the mid-palate. The wine is mid-weight, polished, smooth with more supple tannin by the finish. Alcohol is balanced. The finish is long with rounded, juicy black-cherry fruit. 04/24 (ep) DCAMW

2022 Vintage Saved: 21-May-2023
Deep, dark, almost opaque purple red color. The aromas are of savory black fruit. The palate is leathery with savory black olive character & well-integrated toasty & cedary oak notes. The tannins are plentiful & very fine, giving a cedary structure. Alcohol is warming & the finish combines juicy dark (elderberry) fruit, cedary spices & touches of earthiness. 04/23 (ep) DCAMW

2021 Vintage Saved: 9-May-2022
Medium to deep ruby-red in color with dark pigmentation & a purple rim. Aromas are of ripe dark plum & bullace fruit. The wine has fresh acidity and a core of bitter licorice fruit that is overlaid by graphite. The wine is of mid-weight & the tannins are firm. Alcohol is in balance & fresh acidity ensures black-plum fruit on the finish lasts quite well. 04/22 DCAMW
Very Good
2010 Vintage Saved: 22-Dec-2020
Deep, dark, practically opaque ruby red. Aromas are perfumed & ripe with soft red-fruit, black berries & cinnamon spice. The palate has lovely spices over opulent fleshy fruit & contrasting coffee notes. The palate is full, rich & warm. Cleanly made with lovely fresh acidity. High alcohol is balanced by concentrated fruit, giving rich liquorice notes at the finish Perfumed new oak is well-integrated & the supple tannins create a long, velvet-textured finish. 3/11 DCAMW

Needs at least 30 mins of decanting/aeration to start off well. Initial oak, leather, tobacco notes, give way to eucalyptus, rose petal and violet. Ripe cherry, blueberry, and lavender on the palate. A very good 2nd wine from the vineyard.
