Vineyard notes: "MOREY-SAINT-DENIS Premier Cru Les Monts Luisants The lieu-dit Les Monts Luisants lies northeast of the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, at the top of the slope, where it is very steep (24%). This east-facing lieu-dit varies greatly in altitude, from 311 to 343 meters. The soil on this hillside is 60 to 80 cm thick, rich in angular limestone gravel in a sandy-silty matrix. The soil is rich in carbonate, and very sensitive to erosion. The Quaternary substratum of Les Monts Luisants is composed of limestone scree, bedded deposits known as grèzes litées. These angular Comblanchien limestone gravel deposits cover the slope in layers that are sometimes more than ten meters thick."

Vintage quality: Good (Excellent)
Current condition: Will keep
Excitement around the 2019 Burgundy vintage is running high.
The winter was extremely mild but moved into a chilly spring, with April seeing biting frosts that cut yields in the Mâconnais. Flowering was uneven due to a cooler than average June and some bunches su...
