Producer Notes: This white wine has remarkably pure aromas complimented by a soft roundness. A typical expression of the Viognier grape with its aromas of white peach and apricot.

An exuberance of perfectly ripe yellow and white peaches, apricots, melon, pineapple and delicate white floral aromas overflow from the glass. The palate is luxurious and balanced, with an abundance of melon, dehydrated pineapple, apricot, quince, candied ginger and oak spice. Impressive acidity accentuates its stone finish and helps reset the palate for another sip.

While fermented and matured in one-third new oak, it balances smoky, spicy, vanilla-cream richness well against pristine tangerine and white-peach flavors, with an invigorating lift of tangerine acidity on the finish. Attractive, fresh apricots and white nectarines. White flowers, too. Very fresh and bright. The smooth and even palate has a very rich and concentrated core of apricots. Super-ripe and super-fresh. Drink or hold.

By the sheer size of its production and ubiquity of distribution, Guigal's bottling has become the de facto standard of the appellation. The 2014 is full-bodied and silky in texture, with gorgeous gingery-peppery spice and plenty of apricot-like fruit. Drink it over the rest of 2017.

A really classical expression of Condrieu with fragrant, musky white flowers and apricots and gentle spices. It smells soft, and the palate has impressive weight and core strength in what is essentially a deeply flavored yet elegant white. The palate's chiseled and shows great balance and depth. Drinking well now through to 2020.
