A perfumed wine full of intensity and vermouth-like complexity. Sweet spices dominate on the nose, with cinnamon, oak bark, peonies, Parma violets, violet candy and earthy strawberry fruit. Smooth attack, with a full body, refreshing lifted acidity and velvety, refined and elegant tannins. Savory finish full of details, with a rhubarb and dried orange aftertaste. Chiseled to perfection. A sleek wine for the long haul, but drinkable in two or three years.

A bouquet dominated by enchanting violets, bursts from the glass, accompanied by vibrant pomegranates and currants. On the palate, the wine is well-structured, with tannins that are perfectly integrated, allowing the beauty of the fruit to shine through. This cru is known for its finesse, and this wine is a prime example of its grace and power. A stunning beauty that will leave you captivated. Drink now - 2045.

2020 Vintage Tasted: Aug 2024

Usually one of the palest Barolos in the glass, it shows its typical wild-strawberry and peony aromas, together with sweet violets, cinnamon, burned plastic-like smokiness and vermouth-like intensity. Great concentration on the full-bodied palate with velvety, creamy tannins. Refreshing, slightly lifted acidity and am elegant, filigree finish. Drinkable now, but best in a decade.

In der Nase mit deutlicher Erdbeernote, das ist wie Rayas kombiniert mit Ätna und Burgund, tiefgründig, ungemein würzig, Kräuter, florale Aromen, Veilchen, Zwetschgen, darunter steinige Noten. Assolutamente intrigante e speziato mostra agilità e dinamismo nella matrice sensoriale unica nel suo genere. Le note di chinotto, liquirizia, noce moscata e bacche di ginepro, riempiono il calice. Le sfumature agrumate e pepate descrivono la scena secondaria. Corpo medio, tannini maturi perfettamente estratti e distesi nella matrice ed un finale di ottima personalità. Bevi ora.

Estremamente raro nel profilo sensoriale multiforme alterna note di ciliegie, lamponi, ribes, lavanda, ibisco, karkadè, buccia di limone, lime, bergamotto e tanta citronella. Il sottofondo è ricco di erbe officinali che costituiscono l'ossatura principale di un vino a tratti wild ma sempre genuino e sapientemente condotto in vinificazione. È emozionante l'ossimoro della percezione solare ma fresca che trasmette nel primo approccio. Di corpo medio, mostra una qualità del frutto impressionante, una delicata progressione ed un finale nobile che nella luminosità ed apertura racconta una delle migliori espressioni della collina di Monvigliero. Meglio dal 2025.

Helles Rot. Die Nase direkt nach dem Öffnen voll da, viel Erdbeerduftr, auch Cassis, rote Kirschen, Dörrzwetschgen, ein Hauch Leder, Heustock, Wachs, sehr komplex. Im Gaumen sanft, weich im Auftakt, dann packt der Gerbstoff zu, dieser umgarnt die delikate Frucht wie ein Seidenhandschuh, hochelegant und im Abgang ausgewogen, mit sehr guter Länge ist das ein Barolo, der aufgrund des bescheidenen Jahrgangs bereits heute gut zu trinken ist. 94 vvPunkte

Ricco di identità e carattere Monvigliero si regala a pieno con grazia ed eleganza di pochi eletti in un'annata concentrata e ricca di sole. I petali di rosa si fondono a sfumature di citronella, succo di arancia, cedro in pezzi, bergamotto, chinotto, foglia di pomodoro e pompelmo rosa. In sottofondo le nuance di sambuco e gardenie donano candore e purezza alla matrice. Al palato è preciso, potente, stratificato e decisamente profondo e regala sensazione calde miste a freschezze balsamiche di notevole fascino. Corpo pieno, tannini vellutati ed un finale di media profondità e vivace brillantezza. Meglio dal 2024.

Clear ruby. Very intense and fragrant nose, shows notes of star anise and fennel seed, then lots of raspberry, some violet and rose. Fine tannins, lots of ripe raspberry fruit, unfolds bit by bit, juicy and clear, firm drive on the finish.

Really impressive fragrant. An alluring wine that really asserts the prowess of this Verduno cru. Swirling with aromatic red cherries and berries with plenty of spices and floras, leading to a smooth palate with seamless, long and silky tannins. This is delicious. Burlotto's rise continues. Drink from 2022, but this will age reliably for at least 20 years.

Always the firm's showstopper and one of the best expressions of this celebrated vineyard, the 2013 doesn't disappoint. It opens with alluring scents of wild red berry, Alpine herb, truffle, graphite and new leather while the dazzling palate boasts Marasca cherry, clove, cinnamon, tobacco and a balsamic note. It already shows remarkable finesse and complexity but still needs years to develop to its full and impressive potential. Drink from 2025 through 2050.
