This Barossa wine has received good scores from various critics.
Critic tasting note: (2023 vintage) "The classic Aussie red blend, Cabernet and Shiraz, from the Barossa Valley. The Shiraz is sourced from their famous Filsell vineyard, with its 100-year-old vines. An inky dark maroon hue, the nose opens with characters reminiscent of axle grease (in the most positive sense), cloves, chocolate, mocha, bay leaves, a range of exotic spices, cold tea, aniseed, dried herbs and dark berries. A firm and powerful style, richly flavoured, it finishes with a solid tannin base and serious intensity. There are notes of vegemite which emerge on the palate, along with the black fruits and cocoa powder. Showing impressive length, this will easily handle ten to twelve years in the cellar and continue to improve over that period." - Winepilot
