- Producer Notes
- Château-Grillet is a wine for the initiated, which does not give up its secrets easily; it has great elegance, tightness and a magnificent aromatic complexity. It is a wine for cellaring, and requires patience until it reveals all its magic. Its minerality is often accompanied by a freshness reminiscent of a sea breeze, sometimes even with hints of mint. The aromatic spectrum is wide and varied. Floral elegance (rose, violet, lime-blossom) and soft fruitiness (pear, pineapple, apricot) can also accompany warmer, more indulgent notes such as honey, nougat, hazelnut, vanilla, white truffle, or spices like saffron. A remarkably well-balanced wine, dominated by its fat which is nicely offset by the excellent acidity.

- Vintage Notes
-
Warm and humid weather during winter encouraged an early start of the vegetation. Vine growth continued serenely thanks to a mild and dry spring. Good weather conditions and low levels of coulure during flowering suggested better yields for this vintage. The above-average rainfall in July and August slowed down the véraison (noted on the 5th of August) and stimulated grass growth which required intensive tillage. Summery weather conditions returned progressively and lasted until harvest.

- Harvest Notes
-
Harvest took place from Monday 15th to Thursday 18th of September. The harvest volume almost doubled compared to the 2013 vintage, thanks largely to the cultivation practices, which have been implemented in the vineyard for several years now (ploughing, organic and biodynamic cultures…).
