This wine shows ripe, California fruit and savory flavors of dark chocolate and cracked leather on its effusive nose. The palate lives up to its name and coats the tongue with intense tones of dried berries, current liqueur and toasted mint.
Redcurrants abound on the dark and rich nose. Ripe fruit is supple and round, filling the mouth with the flavor of dark berry preserves. Worn leather characterizes the texture with subtle tobacco leaf notes on the finish.

2009 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2012
Excessive sweetness mars this wine, making the blackberry flavors dull.
2007 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2010
Heavy and soft. Tastes like chocolate milk with an infusion of blackberry syrup. Blended with a little Syrah and Zinfandel, for good luck.
