A deep, flinty nose that's extremely youthful for its age. I love the white tea, lemon blossom, bergamot and white peach aromas that slowly unfurl in the glass. Compact and concentrated, with great energy and minerality. Just beginning to open up. Extremely long structure and a focused finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

Still a spring chicken, this top Riesling—if drunk now—needs a few good swirls in the glass before releasing delicate orange citrus, jasmine and honeysuckle aromas from the clutch of more reductive ones. There's richness and intensity on the dry, slippery palate, cut with citrusy acidity and a chalk dust minerality to the ultralong finish. This is a wine of complexity and class that should cellar until 2032 or longer.

A stunner year over year, this single-vineyard Riesling delves into earthy aromas of fennel pollen and sunbaked field flowers, with a solid core of yellow apple, and white peach. It's rounded and full in feel, filling out by broad pome- and stone-fruit flavors underscored by white tea and blossoms. A gentle honeycomb-wax note lends delightful grip to the dry finish. The ripe mirabelle, plum and melon aromas pour from the glass, but they remain delicate rather than lush. Quite powerful and succulent, but the crisp acidity structure keeps it on track on the very clean and subtly mineral finish, where the apricot note expands as it rolls off into the distance. Drink or hold.

Concentrated aromas of lemon oil, peach, pine and struck flint grace the nose of this single-vineyard Riesling. It's rounded and full in feel on the palate, filled out by juicy orchard fruit flavors yet expertly honed by zesty acidity and a delicate grip of white tea. A lemon oil tone lingers on the finish, but with ample lift and length. Alexander Peartree

Apricot, pineapple and hibiscus aromas pour from the glass of this concentrated and very succulent riesling that’s just off-dry. Long, complex finish in which ripe and mineral components are beautifully integrated. This will slowly turn in a drier direction as it ages. Drink or hold.

This wine is sourced from a 24-acre vineyard on the northwestern part of Seneca Lake. While exuding ultraripeness in its plush stone fruit, pineapple and white blossom tones on the nose, there's still great deal of balance and finesse. The palate is broad and expansive in flavors of soft yellow apple, juicy apricot and white plum, with a fresh line of acidity maintaining focus. White tea tannins offer some grip and astringency on the midpalate, extending into the long, lingering finish. Alexander Peartree

Stunning concentration and ripeness with a cornucopia of peach, nectarine and tangerine aromas that don't want to stop. The acidity precisely holds the wine's curvaceous body in form and gives the long finish great elegance and clarity. This too will be even better in 2018 and has at least a full decade of ageing potential. The greatest dry Riesling ever from Wiemer?

Tasted: Jan 2017
Despite a savory backbone of slate and tart, tangerine acidity, sun-kissed cantaloupe, pineapple and citrus take center stage in this full-bodied Riesling. It's fresh and dry yet lusciously mouthfilling, clinging on the palate through a long, meandering finish. It's gorgeous already but should develop well through 2028.

Tasted: Jan 2016
Sumptuous and hedonistic, this perfumed single-vineyard bottling shines a spotlight on luscious grapefruit, guava and pineapple flavors. It's decadently fruity, but crisp acidity and a delicate crushed-mineral undertone keep it fresh and invigorating.
2013 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2015
Whiffs of wildflowers, fennel and slate combine in this deliciously blossomy, complex wine. While dry in style, it's a touch softer and riper than the HJW or Josef Vineyard bottlings, coating the palate in a supple silk of peach and grapefruit flavors. Powerful and concentrated, it lingers long on the finish. Delicious now, but sure to improve through at least 2023.

Tasted: Jan 2014
It invigorates the senses with concentrated lemon and lime flavors tinged with minerals, tart stone fruits and blossoms. It's dry in style with a bold, mouth-filling palate, but gorgeously elegant. Finishes long with a ripple of lime-zest astringency.
2011 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2014
Floral and honey aromas are touched with earthy hints of saffron and pollen on this bold, lushly textured Riesling. The palate is quite full bodied, with intense flavors of stone fruits, poached pears and spice, but finishes long and elegant.
2008 Vintage
Tasted: Jul 2012
From its bright floral nose to its soft, sweet finish, there's a gorgeous femininity to this outstanding Riesling. Dry in style but accented by notes of pink grapefruit and lychee, Magdalena's daintiness is kept in check with a bracing acidity and elegant white tea astringency.
2009 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2011
Ripe yellow peaches, golden honey and billowing florals perfume this outstanding Riesling. Dry on the palate with a touch of stonefruit sweetness, it's an impeccably complex wine with a shower of slate and stone in the midpalate and delicious lime pith astringency throughout.
