2012 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2015
Entirely estate-grown, this is a gorgeous wine—crisp in red cherry, pomegranate and floral tones, with a fleshy, textured and juicy palate. Richly layered, the chalky tannins are fine-grained, underpinning a flavor structure of dried herb. Dark chocolate lingers on the finish. It has plenty of years to go; cellar through 2022.
2009 Vintage
Tasted: Jan 2014
This wine tests the critic's judgment. Is it just a fruit bomb, bursting with cherries, raspberries and blackberries, enhanced with caramelized oak? Or is it a Cab that needs time? All indications suggest the latter. The tannins are thick and hard, courtesy of the vineyard's high altitude in the Mayacamas Mountains, and the acidity is perfect to protect the wine as it evolves in the bottle. Give it until at least 2017.

Tasted: Jan 2013
At almost five years of age, this Cab still tastes young and fruity. It's incredibly dense with cherry pie, mocha and buttered cinnamon-toast flavors—distinctly New World—yet balanced with fine acidity and complex, ripe tannins. Drink it now with a great steak, simply prepared, with a brown butter sauce.

The vineyard is severely vintage-dependent, with some years much better than others, but the superbly generous 2007 harvest has resulted in this delicious mountain wine. It's perfectly ripe, offering an array of blackberries, cherries and currants wrapped into beautifully mature tannins and grounded with a firm minerality. Defines the elegant concentration of a high Mayacamas Mountain Cabernet. Drink now and over the next 10 years, at least.

A very good, richly tannic wine that flatters with strong flavors of blackberries, cherries and oak. It may be a little too ripe for its own good, though, as it's pretty jammy. For some reason, the winery lowered the price considerably from the 2005, which was a much better wine.

Tasted: Jan 2009
A very fine Cabernet that combines the modern cult style of ripeness with old-fashioned structure to produce a wine of exceptional appeal. It's rich in mountain-intense black currants, bitter chocolate, spices and smoky oak, wrapped into splendid tannins, and the finish is thoroughly dry. The grapes are from the Sonoma side of Spring Mountain, and the winemaker was veteran Marco DiGiulio. Now–2013.

I have tried the 07, 08, 12 and the 09 has them all beat hands down. I wish I had bought more of the 09. This wine is on the rise due to the quality! If it said Napa, it would be 3 times the price. Best qpr
