- Producer Notes
- The Cuvée des Cadettes is an entire story! Indeed, it was the first plot replanted after the phylloxera aphid ravaged millions of hectares of vines. We owe this first plantation to Joseph Ducos, the estate’s owner, in the nineteenth century. Since then, the Cuvée des Cadettes has been made with the best grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre grapes expressing this unique terroir – elegant, intense, sophisticated, and well-balanced. To be enjoyed with wild game, aged meats, and other dishes as rare and complex as this wine.

Vintage quality: Good
Current condition: Likely past it
The 1979 Rhône vintage was good, particularly in the north.
A mild spring promoted early flowering before a hot, dry summer took hold. Good conditions remained steady throughout the growing season with both the Northern and Southern Rhône enjoying fine weather.
