The vineyard lies on Garonne gravel and limestone-clay and covers 58 hectares (143 acres) in a single block. The average age of the vines is 40 years old, split between 61% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.

After hand-picking and careful sorting of the grapes in the winery, batches are placed in separate stainless steel tanks depending on their origin. Plot selection and traceability is thus meticulous. Low temperature fermentation over an extended period allows soft extraction. Each batch is then drawn off into barrels. Press wine is carefully selected and then blended.

Medium bodied, the wine shows slightly firm tannins with an earthy, blackberry, espresso, plum and dark chocolate character. From a blend of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, this should get even better with a few more years of age.

Beautiful deep red, still in its youth. Profound, elegant nose gradually opening up to smoked mineral tones. On the palate, a very silky, mellow wine with ripe, well-integrated tannins and fresh, lingering fruit. A top-notch wine with promise for the future.

Aromas and flavors of currants, coffee and chocolate follow through to a medium body, with firm tannins and a fruity finish. A little subdued. Better in 2016.
