  Expert tasting note: (2024 vintage) "Deep, dark, not quite opaque purple-ruby. Restrained savory aromas open slowly to reveal delicate cassis fruit. The palate displays vivid cassis fruit & lovely, pure black-cherry notes. Good acidity lifts pure cassis on the mid-palate beautifully. The medium-bodied wine has enough alcohol to give richness to the mid-palate. The palate has a good density of fine tannins adding cedar hints to the back-palate. Producer Notes: Château Lafite Rothschild’s second wine, Carruades de Lafite presents similar characteristics to the Grand Vin, but with its own personality linked to a higher proportion of Merlot and to specific plots that are used to produce Carruades. The name comes from the Carruades plateau, a group of plots acquired in 1845 just next to the vines on the Château hilltop.

Deep garnet-purple colored. Needs a little coaxing to bring out notes of crushed red and black plums and fresh raspberries, with touches of dried Provence herbs, wet slate, and lavender. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and pure with fine-grained tannins and a well-sustained, savory finish.

Licorice, black currants, plums, and leafy tobacco nuances create the perfume. The palate is even better with its vivid display of fresh, juicy, crisp, red, with black fruits paired with a fine line of tannins down the middle giving you grace, character, and refined, freshness. The finish displays the wines elegance, with a touch of chalk on the back end of the finish. Give this just a year, or two in the bottle and it will be quite charming in your glass. The wine is a blend of 47% Merlot, 45% Cabernet, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. 13% ABV. 3.65 pH. Picking took place September 23 - October 7. Drink from 2028-2040.

45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. This is the second wine of Lafite, and a lighter version than usual. It displays aromatic notes of black and red currants, with crunchy berries on the palate, is vibrant, profound, and delicate, with a lasting finish. It is a superb effort.

Deep, dark, not quite opaque purple-ruby. Restrained savory aromas open slowly to reveal delicate cassis fruit. The palate displays vivid cassis fruit & lovely, pure black-cherry notes. Good acidity lifts pure cassis on the mid-palate beautifully. The medium-bodied wine has enough alcohol to give richness to the mid-palate.
