The wine is of medium to full body & the tannins are not big, but the structure is fine, grainy, cedary & dense. Reminiscent of the 1995 Lafite but modern, this wine is extremely aromatic, showing lead pencil, currants, blackberries, black olives and smoke with some gunpowder. Notes of iodine, stone, blood and ink. It is medium-bodied, with very fine and creamy tannins that show so much finesse and length. Racy at the end. 96% cabernet sauvignon, 3% merlot, 1% petit verdot. Give this four or five years to open.

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, purple hue to the narrow rim. Fine noble wood savouriness, black forest berries, nougat and fresh orange zest; an attractive bouquet. Complex and taut; red berry fruit underpins ripe cherry fruit. Vivid, very fine tannins that give the wine beautiful structure, mineral, salty with lovely length. A great food companion, marked by freshness and openness; plenty of ageing potential here as Lafite fully shows off its outstanding terroir.

Flowers, blackberries, charcoal, cigar box, black currants, spice, cedar, graphite and tobacco come through on the nose with a bit of coaxing. On the palate, the wine offers a pure expression of red fruits, black cherries, spice and a touch of orange rind, along with boysenberry, licorice and red plums on the backend. This is an elegant, regal, classic style of Lafite Rothschild that will age and evolve quite well. The wine is complete from start to finish and was produced from blending 96% Cabernet Sauvignon. 3% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot. 12.6% ABV, 3.9 pH. Drink from 2032-2060.

Leuchtendes Rubin. Die Nase ist subtil, tiefgründig, anfangs sehr zurückhaltend, braucht etwas Zeit, öffnet sich mit jeder Minute, wird immer floraler, ein nobles Parfüm, in keiner Form aufdringlich, jedoch mit grosser Komplexität, mineralischen Anklängen und eher hellen Frucht. Der Gaumen ist gradlinig und schlank, was für eine Präzision, der Wein hat viel Struktur, zeigt Rasse und Finesse, hochelegant, mit feinkörnigen, noch jugendlichen Tanninen und einer messerscharfen Säure, die Frucht ist knackig, auf den Punkt gereift, hallt im Abgang lange nach. Das ist ein tänzerischer, feingliedriger Lafite, sehr klassisch! 2030-2055+ (Verkostet "En Primeur" im April 2022. Château Lafite Rothschild)
