The wine is medium to full bodied with fresh acidity & toasty oak hints. Mocha & new cedary oak tannins overlay rich licorice fruit on a long finish. Vintage Notes: From April to the end of June, there were weeks of battles against mildew and the raging elements, hundreds of tacks that didn’t go through, retreats to windward, refuges and returns to sea… until the entry into the Pacific on 25th June. Here, everything changed, with days of gentle, temperate breezes. The vines healed their wounds, the crew recharged their batteries and the wounds were quickly forgotten. By the end of August, the ripening process was running perfectly smoothly, and we were tasting berries selected from the vines on the Lafite plateau. They were full of flavour and life, the result of a perfect summer after all those storms.

Harvest Notes: The harvest began on 23rd September with our best Merlot grapes from Pointon and Gravette, and we were now full steam ahead at all costs, dodging the raindrops. Our best Cabernet grapes were picked at the beginning of October, and we had everything in on the 7th.

Deep garnet-purple colored. Has a very perfumed nose of violets, red cherries, and iris, leading to a core of cassis, pencil lead, wild sage, and iron ore with a touch of fertile loam. The light-bodied palate is very light on its feet, issuing a lacy network of elegant red berry and mineral flavors, framed by ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and perfumed.

Indian spices, flowers, Cuban cigars, cedar, crème de cassis, and blackberries are just the start of what you find in the perfume. One of the more elegantly styled wines of the vintage, it is marked by its cut and freshness. The wine is refined and expressive, with a silkiness to the fruits, paired with length and purity. The graceful finish lingers with its natural lift and vibrancy. The wine blends 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot, along with 16% press wine. It has 13% ABV and a pH of 3.8. Harvesting started on September 27 for the young Merlot vines and finished on October 7. Yields were 32 hectoliters per hectare, and 45% of the harvest was placed into the Grand Vin. It's interesting to note that 2024 is the first vintage that's certified organic. Drink from 2030-2055.

A more Burgundian vintage for Lafite, with cedar, graphite, paprika, white pepper and fresh red fruit. Nuanced and refined, with a medium body and understated fruit. Intensity and concentration. It shows the Lafite hallmark of elegance, with more fluidity and crunch this year. Very long and delicate. 96% cabernet sauvignon, 3% merlot and 1% petit verdot.

96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot. Très beau nez, fortement empreint de l’élégance du Cabernet Sauvignon, dans un mélange magique de cassis, menthe poivrée et mûres. C’est superbement frais et profond ! La prise en bouche est d’un grand dynamisme, rayonnante de fraîcheur. On retrouve des petits fruits noirs frais et éclatants, à l’excellente concentration. Les tanins sont somptueux de netteté et leur puissance est déjà parfaitement intégrée grâce à la fraîcheur du vin. Il faut saluer ce superbe équilibre trouvé, de très grande classe, qui permettra à ce Lafite 2024 de traverser les âges de manière flamboyante. 98-99/100
