Château Lafleur-Gazin, a beautiful estate located on the northern edge of the Pomerol plateau, between Château La Fleur-Pétrus and Château Gazin, has been managed by Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1976 and was acquired by the family in 2021. The Merlot vines (averaging 30 years of age), are planted on gravel and clay. which encourage a nuanced and full expression of this varietal’s character.

A beautifully plush and attractively rich Pomerol with aromas of red cherries and plums, framed in cedar and cocoa, as well as notes of earth and undergrowth. The plush palate is undeniably silky yet long and powerfully regal. Terrific balance here. Try from 2022.

Discreet nose, pure with darker fruit, a hint of butterscotch, crushed cassis, plum, vanilla, fine oak with a dense palate, full and rounded still needing time but a fine result with good purity, length and potential.

Dark ruby, purple reflections, faint brightening on the rim. Ripe cherry fruit on the nose with a delicate herbal savouriness underlaid with fresh orange zest and red berry notes. Moderately complex palate, more red cherry, integrated tannins with fresh acidity, lemony finish and some liquorice.
