Depending on the vintage the blend might vary. Formerly Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore was labeled as Tenuta Belvedere.
Critic tasting note: (1999 vintage) "Fast becoming one of the world's top luxury cuvées, this blend ofCabernet SauvignonMerlot andSyrah is a complex amalgam of dry, classy fruit, herbal notes, smoked meat, black pepper and baking spices. Its calling card is its perfect body weight. It isn't heavy or jammy, but it manages to offer tons of stuffing and a graceful finish loaded with the essences of cola, coffee and chocolate. If possible, it should be cellared for several more years." - Wine Enthusiast

The estate covers an area of 320 hectares (790 acres) planted with vines, set in a beautiful plain encircled by rolling hillsides known as the "Bolgheri Amphitheatre" due to its particular shape. The vineyards are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Vermentino Nero and Bianco. The nearby sea provides a mild climate with constant breezes that mitigate summer heat and alleviate harsh winter weather, maintaining a clear sky and a high level of sunlight exposure.

Vintage quality: Good
Current condition: Ready to drink
Good quality wines were produced from a hot year. Brunello di Montalcino wines were particularly well received. Any top 1999 Brunello Riservas still available should still be drinking nicely. However, as a ripe vintage there have been plenty of excuses to have drunk them...
