The weather conditions were very similar to those in the 1978 vintage: a wet spring, a hot summer in July and cool in August; and a very fine end to the summer. Once again, the grapes just managed to reach a very good level of ripeness.

Reifes Bordeauxrot, aufgehellter Rand. In der Nase mit schwarzer Johannisbeere und Kirsche, dahinter Süssholz, sehr schöne Komplexität. Im Auftakt straff, eher schlanker Körper, markante Säure, dazu etwas staubiges Tannin, am mittleren Gaumen drängt die Frucht durch, aromatisch liegt der Wein zwischen roten und dunklen Beeren, dazu zeigt er einiges an Würze. Im Abgang von sehr schöner Länge, in sich äusserst stimmig ohne Anspruch auf Grösse. Jetzt geniessen. 18 vvPunkte (90/100)

Light ruby with bricking in the color, the wine is filled with cassis, spice, truffle, coffee and earthy notes. Refined in texture, this medium/full bodied wine is fully mature. The finish ends with cassis and spice flavors. There is no reason to age this wine any longer. It will not improve. This was my last bottle from the case. With a perfect fill, it was also the best of the 12. 92 Points

Bon mais loin d être extraordinaire car élégant mais somme toute assez basique et pas d'une immense longueur. Peut être du a un stockage dans une cave pas si bonne que cela (malgré un très bon niveau).
