2023 Vintage Tasted: Sep 2025
Velvety, luxurious, ripe and chocolaty, this full-bodied wine has a relaxed texture, with soft tannins incorporating baked black-fruit flavors and tempting oak spices. Dark plums, blackberry jam and cocoa lend an almost sweet, delicious accessibility. Drink or hold.
2019 Vintage Tasted: Apr 2024
This classically structured, Merlot-dominant wine wraps velvety tannins around ample black currant, black cherry, mint and dark chocolate flavors. The wine is mouthfilling, vibrant, moderately spiced with oak and so tempting to drink. Best from 2025–2035.
2019 Vintage Tasted: Mar 2023
Attractive aromas of plums and blackberries with vanilla, anisette, cherry chocolate and moist earth. Full-bodied and juicy with bright acidity and firm, chalky tannins. Dry and velvety finish with hints of blue flowers and wild berries. 64% merlot, 21% cabernet sauvignon, 7% malbec, 4% petit verdot and 4% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.
2018 Vintage Tasted: Sep 2022
Some vivid tobacco leaves and olives to the dark plums, cassis and cedary wood. A hint of chocolate, too. Juicy and firm on the palate, showing nice dryness and poise. A classy red blend of 61% merlot, 24% cabernet sauvignon, 7% cabernet franc, 5% malbec and 3% petit verdot. Ends pretty long, fresh and nuanced. Well made. Drink or hold.
2012 Vintage Tasted: Jan 2017
Ripe and floral in pencil lead, this estate-grown wine is subdued in fruit, preferring instead to conjure savory and herbal notes from the glass. Tobacco, leather and wild anise support that context and statement, the texture roundly lush.
2010 Vintage Tasted: Jan 2015
Given more than two years in all-new French oak, this hearty, generous Cab comes from the winery's estate vineyard. With a taste and smell of bay leaf marking the entry, the juicy red ripe berry fruit is followed by chalky, grippy tannins.
2009 Vintage Tasted: Jan 2013
Enormously rich in blackberry and cherry pie, mocha and oak flavors, this Cab has ripe, fine tannins and a spicy finish. It's surprisingly soft, which limits its ageability, so drink now–2015.
2008 Vintage Tasted: Jan 2012
This wine remains astringent in tannins, with a lockded-down mouthfeel that's hard to get past. But it's very rich in blackberry and cherry fruit. Is it worth aging? It's hard to tell if 10 years will be of benefit, but the tannins seem likely to outlast the fruit. Drink up over the next 5–6 years.
2007 Vintage Tasted: Jan 2011
Strong in tannins and showing an earthy, tough aggressiveness, this Cabernet lacks immediate charm. There's an old-fashioned dryness about it, rather like the old Inglenooks and Louis Martinis that aged forever. Perhaps it will, too. There's a big, ripe heart of blackberries, and no apparent reasons why the wine shouldn't glide through the years.
2006 Vintage Tasted: Jan 2010
Has all the hallmarks of a young, ageable Cabernet, and should develop well due to the inherent balance and class. Right now, oak sticks out. But underneath are ripe blackberry, black currant and chocolate flavors, wrapped into a very fine, classic structure. Better after 2012.
