- Capellania is made from Viura grapes, a white variety obtained from Capellania vineyard, a 6 hectares plot located at the highest altitude of the Ygay Estate. Thanks to this altitude, the great quality of its calcareous soils and the low yields obtained from the 70 years old vines, this variety reaches its maximum potential. Every single step in the winemaking of Capellanía is aimed to reach the maximum expression of the variety: manual harvest, sorting table, low temperature fermentation… Its balanced ageing in French barrels provides the wine precision and makes Capellanía an incredible gastronomic wine.

Branco elaborado exclusivament e a partir de uvas Viura advindas de vinhedos plantados em 1945 no Pago Capellanía, com estágio de 24 meses em barricas novas de carvalho francês. No início, estava um pouco fechado, mas com algum tempo na taça começa a mostrar frutas brancas e de caroço maduras seguidas de notas florais, de ervas e de especiarias doces, com sua acidez refrescante e sua textura firme e cremosa ditando as regras e conferindo fluidez e profundidade ao vinho. Cheio de camadas de aromas e de sabores, tem final persistente, com toques redutivos, amanteigados, de pêssegos, de pêras e de camomila. Paciência com ele! Está ótimo agora, mas tem tudo para ficar ainda melhor nos próximos 20 anos. Álcool 14%.

Light-straw in color, this wine has aromas of lemon and white chocolate, with a touch of dried hillside herbs. It is full on the palate, offering tropical-fruit flavors alongside notes of vanilla, mint and lemon zest. A strong sense of fruit brightness is present from entry through the smooth finish. A round, intense and full-bodied expression with sleek, concentrated flavors with mouth-cleansing acidity. Very serious and long! 100% viura from 90-year-old vines. Drink or hold.
